Machine Learning Research Scientist
Build the intelligence that helps robots understand and interact with the physical world.
We’re looking for a Research Scientist to join an early-stage UK startup working at the intersection of machine learning and robotics.
This is a highly research-driven role. You’ll explore new approaches to robot learning, vision-language-action models and world models, with the opportunity to test your ideas on real robotic systems.
The role
- Research and develop new approaches to Physical AI
- Train and evaluate VLAs, world models and robot learning systems
- Explore new architectures, training techniques and data strategies
- Investigate how models can generalise across different tasks and environments
- Turn research ideas into experiments on real robotic hardware
- Play a major role in shaping the company's research roadmap
About you
- Strong research background in machine learning, robotics or computer vision
- Deep understanding of modern deep learning
- Experience training and evaluating ML models
- Strong mathematical and experimental skills
- Comfortable tackling open-ended research problems
- Able to take an idea from hypothesis through to rigorous experimentation
Why this role?
- Join at an early/founding stage with meaningful equity
- Work on some of the hardest problems in robotics and Physical AI
- Test your research on real-world robotic systems
- Significant freedom to explore new ideas
- Help shape the research direction from an early stage
- Work alongside a small, highly technical team
