Our client is a leading quantitative and systematic investment firm managing billions in assets globally, with offices in New York, London, Singapore, and beyond. As they continue to scale their infrastructure, they are seeking a Junior Systems Specialist to support the backbone of their compute and storage platforms.
This is a hands-on, growth-focused opportunity within a highly technical environment, perfect for someone early in their infrastructure career looking to develop in a world-class engineering team.
As a Junior Systems Specialist, you’ll:
- Help manage and scale distributed compute and petabyte-scale storage systems
- Install, manage, and monitor Linux (RHEL-based) environments
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the full stack
- Build tools and automation scripts using Python, or Bash
- Work closely with engineering teams and vendors to resolve infrastructure issues
The ideal candidate will have:
- Up to 4 years of experience in a Linux systems/infrastructure engineering role
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Ruby
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
- Interest or exposure to observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
- A passion for learning and improving in high-performance environments
