A well-backed AI startup building an enterprise-grade platform for automated business identity verification is hiring a founding Software Engineer focused on AI. The product enables customers in fintech, banking and regulated industries to verify businesses, reduce fraud and meet compliance requirements at scale. This is a rare early hire role: you’ll work directly with the founders to shape product and engineering decisions from day one.
I'm looking for a Founding Software Engineer to join their early team in New York. This is a rare chance to work side-by-side with the CEO and CTO, own the AI strategy, and build cutting-edge multi-agent AI systems that redefine how business identity is verified globally.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate directly with the founders to define and execute their AI strategy
- Design and build multi-agent LLM systems that autonomously extract, validate, and reconcile business identity data across global sources
- Develop evaluation frameworks to benchmark agent performance and ensure high-quality outputs
- Engage with customers to translate real-world pain points into effective AI solutions
- Stay on the cutting edge of the AI ecosystem and bring those insights back into the product
- Help shape the engineering culture and “how we work” as part of the founding team
What We’re Looking For
- 1–5 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Hands-on experience with agent-based LLM applications (open-source or closed-source models like GPT, Claude, etc.)
- Knowledge of RAG techniques (chunking, vector embeddings, relevance scoring)
- Strong Python skills and experience building scalable, production-ready systems
- Comfort working in ambiguity and excitement to push boundaries with emerging tech
- Customer-first mindset and eagerness to deliver real-world value
On-site policy: 5 days/week in their Soho office.
