About the Role:
As a Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their architectural decisions. Your technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and profound understanding of their product and users will drive the creation of a richer experience for both users and engineers. You will lead from the front, balancing quality with rapid delivery and bridging the gap between value and complexity.
As a Staff Engineer, you will:
- Create, drive, and actively participate in delivering their backend strategy.
- Enhance engineering efficiency through pattern recognition, tooling, CI, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams during planning sessions, aiding rapid delivery.
- Maintain contextual awareness of backend systems across the organization.
- Mentor and coach fellow engineers, guiding them along their career paths.
- Own the definition of their public and private APIs.
- Contribute to refining their backend software delivery processes in collaboration with Technology leadership.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Staff or Principal Engineer or Architect.
- Tech Stack: Java, Golang, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and AWS.
- Ability to challenge the status quo, finding innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
- Autonomy to identify the best solutions delivering value to both engineers and customers.
- Passion for rapidly delivering valuable software, emphasizing simplicity over complexity.
- Dedication to mentoring and supporting talented engineers.
